TERMS & CONDITIONS
By hiring from Em Dress Rentals, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms are legally binding and ensure fairness between both parties. Failure to adhere to these terms will result in enforcement actions as deemed appropriate by Em Dress Rentals.

REFUNDS
Once a rental has been paid for, refunds are not available for change of mind/ incorrect sizing. This applies regardless of whether the garment has been collected.

Em Rentals encourages all clients to try on garments prior to booking, to ensure the correct size and fit, as refunds will not be issued for incorrect sizing or change of mind.

SECURITY BONDS:
A security bond of between $50 and $100 is required for all rentals. The bond will be charged at checkout and held separately from the rental fee.

The bond will be refunded within 48 hours after the garment is returned in good condition, and you will be notified once this refund has been processed. The bond will not be refunded if the garment is returned late, damaged or if additional cleaning is required.

Any disputes regarding bond deductions will be handled at the discretion of Em Dress Rentals, acting reasonably.

CANCELLATIONS:
If the client wishes to cancel their booking for any reason, Em Dress Rentals must be notified as soon as possible.

Please note that we do not issue credit notes for change-of-mind cancellations.

However, you are welcome to:
-Change the date of your booking (subject to availability)
- Swap to a different item of equal value, or pay the difference for a higher-priced item.

Once your garment has been shipped or picked up, cancellations are no longer eligible for any refund or change.

SWAPPING ITEMS:
If the client wishes to change their booking to another garment or a different date (subject to availability), Em Dress Rentals must be contacted as soon as possible. We can only facilitate a swap of a garment, but the client agrees to the following conditions:

- If the new garment is of lower value, the difference will be forfeited.
- Bookings cannot be transferred to another person (e.g., friend)
- You must request a swap at least 3 days before your pick-up date.

LOCAL / MELBOURNE HIRES:

PICK UP:
Garments can be collected by the client or a nominated person on the rental start date from 3:00 - 7:00pm. You will receive a detailed pick-up instruction email 24 hours before your hire period begins.

RETURNS:
All garments must be returned by the agreed return date. Items can be returned by placing them behind the pedestrian gate at Em Dress Rentals.

Late fees will apply if the garment is not returned by 10am on the rental return due date. A fee of $20 per day will apply until the garment is returned. After 10 days, the garment is deemed a non-return and the client will be charged 100% of the RRP.

INTERSTATE POSTAGE

DELIVERY:
Em Dress Rentals will post garments to arrive before the rental start date.

When booking, please ensure you select the day before your event as the rental start date. For example, if your event is on
Saturday, select Friday as the start of your 4-day hire. This allows adequate time for delivery.

If there is not enough time to post the item according to Australia Post’s delivery time guidelines, Em Dress Rentals reserves the right to cancel the order and provide a refund.

As an alternative to postage, Uber Parcel delivery is offered for last-minute bookings. These delivery fees are covered by the client and must be arranged directly with Em Dress Rentals.

Tracking information will be provided approximately 4 days before your event.

RETURNS:
The garment must be lodged at the post office by the designated return date provided when booking. If the return date falls on a Saturday or Sunday and the post office is closed, returning the item on Monday is acceptable.

Clients must return the garment using the provided return envelope and send Em Dress Rentals a photo of the lodgement receipt via text as proof of postage. This receipt is provided when a postal representative scans the parcel.

Under no circumstances should a garment be placed in a street posting box. If this occurs, a $30 handling fee will be charged.

If a lodgement receipt is not provided, the client will be held responsible for any postage issues, including delays or loss of the item. If the garment has not been received by Em Dress Rentals within 10 days of the return date, the client will be charged 100% of the item’s RRP in addition to the hire price.

Late fees apply if the garment is not lodged at the post office by the agreed return date. A fee of $20 per day will be charged until the garment is returned. If the client fails to provide proof of lodgement and/or the garment arrives late, causing a missed booking for another customer, the client will
also be charged the full rental fee for that booking.

GARMENT CARE:
The hirer must not alter, modify, pin, tape, or attach anything to the garment. Any form of modification will result in additional charges.

Clients must not attempt to clean or remove any marks or stains, as it may cause further damage.

The hirer is fully responsible for any loss, theft, damage, or destruction of the garment.

General dry cleaning is included in the rental fee. However, if the garment requires additional cleaning due to staining, makeup, fake tan, or other damage, the client agrees to cover the extra cleaning costs. These fees will be invoiced after inspection of the garment.

If the Client is notified of outstanding fees, such as damage or late fees, the Client must pay within 3 days.

DAMAGE:
All garments are expected to be returned in the same condition in which they were received from Em Dress Rentals.

Em Dress Rentals, will assess any damages and determine whether they are major or minor.
Major damages are either beyond repair or ruined, which will require item replacement.
Minor damages include excessive marks, stains, rips, tears, holes, fabric pilling, broken components, or the removal of hanging ribbons.

Replacement of a damaged item may incur charges up to the full RRP of the garment, in addition to the original hire fee. Payment for these charges is due within 3 days of notice. Em Dress Rentals reserves the right to retain the garment if deemed necessary.

Clients acknowledge that all garments are pre-loved and may have been worn by others. Some normal wear and tear is expected and will not be considered grounds for a refund.
